Epoxy Resin

Marine Epoxy for Bonding, Laminating & Fiberglassing.

Sea•Forge Epoxy Resin is the foundation of the Sea•Forge 2:1 Epoxy System. Its low-viscosity clear formula wets out fiberglass easily, penetrates wood surfaces, and provides strong adhesion for boatbuilding, repair, and composite work.

Pair with a Sea•Forge Part B Hardener selected for your working conditions and desired cure speed.

Why Builders Choose Sea•Forge Epoxy Resin

  • Low Viscosity: Flows easily for fiberglass wet-out, coating, and laminating.
  • Clear Formula: Ideal for fiberglassing, coating, and applications where the natural appearance of the wood is important.
  • Excellent Wood Penetration: Soaks readily into wood surfaces for coating and bonding.
  • Excellent Fiberglass Wet-Out: Saturates fiberglass cloth easily and thoroughly.
  • Strong Adhesion: Designed for structural bonding of wood, fiberglass, and compatible composite materials.
  • Versatile 2:1 System: Choose the appropriate Sea•Forge Part B Hardener for your working conditions and desired cure speed.
  • Easy to Thicken: Combine with Sea•Forge fillers for bonding, filleting, fairing, and other specialized applications.
  • Marine Applications: Formulated for boatbuilding, repair, restoration, and composite construction.
  • Low VOC: Formulated with low volatile organic compound content.

Sea•Forge 2:1 Epoxy System

  • Part A — Epoxy Resin: Low-viscosity clear resin for coating, bonding, laminating, and fiberglass wet-out.

  • Available Sizes: 1 Quart | 1/2 Gallon | 1 Gallon | 5 Gallon | Bulk Containers

  • Origin: Made in the USA

Always mix 2 parts Part A Epoxy Resin : 1 part Part B Hardener by volume. Do not alter this ratio.

Primary Applications

Fiberglass Wet Lay-Up | Wood Coating & Saturation | Structural Bonding | Fiberglass & Composite Laminating | Vacuum Bagging | Marine Repair & Restoration

How to Use

  1. Measure: Mix 2 parts Sea•Forge Epoxy Resin : 1 part Sea•Forge Part B Hardener by volume. Do not alter this ratio. Use graduated mixing cups for accurate measurement of small or large batches, or use calibrated 2:1 dispensing pumps. Test pumps for accuracy before first use and before mixing a large batch.
  2. Mix Thoroughly: Stir the resin and hardener completely, scraping the sides and bottom of the mixing container.
  3. Apply: Use mixed epoxy for coating, fiberglass wet-out, laminating, and bonding.
  4. For Bonding & Fillets: When thickened epoxy is needed, add the appropriate Sea•Forge filler only after the resin and hardener have been thoroughly mixed.
  5. Allow to Cure: Cure time varies with hardener selection, temperature, application thickness, and working conditions.

Pro Tip — Extend Your Working Time: When applying unthickened epoxy with a roller, pour the mixed epoxy into a lined paint tray rather than leaving it in the mixing cup. The shallow layer helps dissipate heat and extend working time. This is especially useful when applying fill coats or wetting out lighter composite fabrics such as 6 oz. E-glass fiberglass cloth.
